History & Background: Paranoyd was formed in 1996 as a 4 piece band with a lead vocalist that played cover tunes from Marshall Tucker to Alice In Chains. They started by playing parties and bars. With each performance gaining fans and momentum. Before long they developed a very loyal fan base and where ever Paranoyd was there would be a crowd following them. Since then the band has evolved into a more serious (albeit - fun) band that still play parties & bars but have added receptions, clubs, fairs and charities just to name a few. With their own original songs and a new CD Paranoyd is still growing and changing.

Y2K ... What a Year: In 2000 Paranoyd hired a new bassist (Woody). Bought the "Para-Bus" which they converted from a 52-passenger bus into the bands home away from home complete with new paint, an equipment room and of course a stereo. Also Paranoyd opened for Bad Finger at the Midway Pre-Sturgis Bash in St, Joseph MO. along with ten other bands. |
|
In September of 2000 Paranoyd won
the "Battle of the Bands" at the Northwest Missouri
State Fair in Bethany MO. which not only awarded them cash and a
trophy but also meant that they opened the show for Headeast and
Molly Hatchet. The same day Paranoyd played in the entertainment
tent for KAAN-Radio and was interviewed by KQ2 TV out of St.
Joseph MO. What an AWESOME day that was! Paranoyd played at the State Line rally in Keosauqua IA. and opened for The Ozark Mountain Daredevils with around 4,000 people attending the biker event.

| 2001 -
They started the year off by going online with a
website dedicated to them and the loyal fans that follow them. In August
they opened for Black Oak Arkansas at a bikers 4 kids charity event in
Eminence Mo. called Band of the Hands which they donated time to. Jennifer
Kitchen came into the band and brought a whole new realm of possibilities
with her. Then there was the North West Missouri State Fair and opening for 38 Special. That brought them some new fans. In October they again donated time to a gig in Albany which raised several thousand dollars to help out a nice person in the community. |

| 2002 - Keeping busy:
Things changed and the band moves on. Paranoyd
devotes more time to the making of their first CD. The band branches out and
expands the borders of the shows they play. Bass player Dan Woody decides to
leave Paranoyd early in the year so the quest is to move on and beyond. As the
dates fill and the band accepts more gigs than intended the CD progress moves a
little slower. A new bass player joins
Paranoyd in late march but that doesn't seem to work out so the search continues. In July, Jake Cameron joined the band on bass. He was
there for the September 1st date when Paranoyd opened for
Foghat. That evening started with Station 803 opening the show followed by Paranoyd and then Foghat. Foghat stuck around after the show and signed autographs for everyone in the stands who chose to get in line, not only were they an awesome band putting on an excellent show but then proved what human beings they were. Great bunch of guys - check out the webpage we've dedicated to them here on this site and don't miss visiting their website. |

| 2003 - Some time off: After all the dates of the last few years Paranoyd has decided to take some time off this year. Finishing the CD late last year and waiting for the mixing and copying, the band has been very busy behind the scenes. Few show dates doesn't mean Paranoyd is done or not doing anything. In fact, Keith has started his own business and Toby has added a child to his family. | ||
| 2004 - With the ever changing cycle of band members Paranoyd is once again playing some shows. A select few with dates being turned down while some extra time padded for promoting the CD, the band is leaving dates open to be filled at a shorter notice. | ||
|
2006 - Paranoyd is back in the studio and writing music for the next full release album. Look for it as early as this year, with any luck it'll happen. Keith Ellis, Toby Puffer, Jeff Stevens and Jake Cameron are hitting it hard! Expect some more para-news this coming year. |
